AI usage
I am not a strong advocate for Generative AI.
I am not a strong opponent to Generative AI.
As a technology, I find it interesting.
As a tool, I find it can be useful.
As an implementation, I find it absolutely dire.
I have used it in the past for tinkering and experimentation.
I have used it in the past to help search for information, as search engines have become steadily more and more useless.
I have not used it for generating any content for this, or any other websites or projects I am running.
Of the things that I value, two of those are knowledge and human expression. When it comes to my own projects, as much as those of others. The following statements are true at time of writing, and intended to be true indefinitely.
- None of the content I create for this site (nistur.co.uk) is generated by AI.
- None of the projects I host here or contribute to, contain any AI generated code.
- To the best of my knowledge none of the images that are used in this website are generated by AI.
- I will always look to commission artists and creators to create the assets for any project.
I am not claiming that there will never be any Generative AI used at all at any point. As stated previously, it can be a useful tool. One example is, when commissioning artists, I have occasionally used a generated image as a quick concept, as it is easier to transfer an idea from my brain into theirs. I have only ever done this with express permission of the artist in question, and have relied on my words whenever they have proven sufficient.
